Comprehensive Diabetic Foot Exams

Sensory testing to measure loss of protective sensation,  loss of deep pressure sensation, motor testing, temperature, skin and nail integrity, pedal pulses and evaluation of foot deformities.  All Diabetic patients will be given a Risk Category for complications and should have this updated annually.

Pedorthic Biomechanical Assessment for Painful Foot Conditions (Bunions, Pes Planus, Plantar Fasciitis, Hallux Rigidus and Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction)

Foot Care ​Nursing

Foot care nursing is a highly specialized, professional service provided by Registered Nurses which includes: Foot assessment and Diabetic foot exams, Nail cutting and filing, Corn and callus care, Skin care
Foot education – do’s and don’ts to safely take care of your feet and nails and Advice on products (foot cream, padding, proper footware, etc.).

Dispensing of Custom Foot Orthotics

We can custom manufacture foot orthotics from a variety of materials for most situations or make a recommendation based on your assessment to help treat painful foot conditions.

We use Diabetic Foot Orthotics to protect the Diabetic foot and keep patients active, walking and mobile so that they can manage their blood sugars to prevent Diabetic foot complications.  We do this in conjunction with Foot Care Nursing to protect the Diabetic foot and prevent little problems from becoming big problems

Diabetic Orthapaedic Footware

Diabetic Orthopaedic Footwear; is designed to enhance the function of the foot orthotic and to protect the foot (learn more about Diabetic Foot).

Benefits & Coverage

All Persons With Disability - Social Services Designation and First Nations Health Authority are fully covered regularly for footwear and orthotics (not shoes) and PWD is both shoes and orthotics.  DVA and Extended Benefits have varying coverage.
